Outside looking in to the Anne Collier exhibition.

Tulips from…

Tulips from…, originally uploaded by Maddy Lou.

Day 29: … Tesco. But I wish it were Spring and these were ‘real’ tulips I’d grown in the garden rather than the shop-bought variety!

Open all hours…

Day 28: Arkwright building, Nottingham Trent University.
Snatched shot today as it’s been scary busy and far too busy for a Friday! Ah well, at least the weekend is here. Hooray!

Hyacinths in a jug

Day 27: I have two shots to choose from today. It was this or the cat looking weird. Not a good day for photography!

Snowdrops…

Snowdrops…, originally uploaded by Maddy Lou.

Day 26: Some flowers! Hooray! I know it’s not original but every year I get a real buzz from seeing the new flowers and life re-emerging from wintery hibernation.

Bring on Spring!

Fragile

Day 25: I wonder if this is a bit too shocking?

Have to say I was shocked to see how much weight my little girl has lost and how poorly and frail she looked as she slept (she’s had a Norovirus infection and been pretty ill with it – worse than the rest of us). Anyway, this is a personal shot to remind me how fragile my children are sometimes.

Felix is five

Day 24: And a washed out portrait for a washed out kinda birthday. He’s ill, his sister’s ill, his daddy’s ill… and I’m ill. So we’re all feeling a bit like this.
Happy 5th Birthday, Felix – sorry it’s been a rotten one!

Back to the drawing board

Day 23: Felix, doodling… still wearing his pyjamas mid-afternoon after throwing up throughout the weekend.
Nice.

Descent into…

Day 22: Steps coming up from Stoke Lock, Nottinghamshire

Just a rotten day for photography – my littlest was sick all day, his birthday party was cancelled and just about everything that could go wrong did… hence… no time for photography…

Maddy’s first reading book

Maddy’s first reading book, originally uploaded by Maddy Lou.

Day 21: Today my daughter brought home her first reading book – she’s engrossed and my little boy is desperate for a peek!

Not the greatest shot ever – but I just wanted to capture the moment.

We Three Kings…

Mooching, originally uploaded by Maddy Lou.

Day 20: Would never normally do an image like this – but it’s for the multiple exposure challenge of the 365 group I’m part of… so… this is it… my Felix… mooching his way home from School (complete with crown on his head!)… and me… 100% out of my comfort zone!

Mango Chutney

Day 19: Home-made Mango Chutney to replenish the dwindling stock. Very yummy!

Little bit lost…

Day 18: Danbo in the dark… ever so slightly lost…

(a deeply uncreative day – am absolutely shattered from working 29 hours this weekend and my brain has shut down)

Day 17: High key hyacinth taken with a Lensbaby Composer, f/2.8 aperture and +4 macro

Cracking up

Day 16: You know you’ve lost it when you draw faces on eggs for your daughter’s breakfast… then take photos of them…

The art of begging

Day 15: Felix… begging on the stairs!

(could wish his eyes were sharper in this shot, but will have to carry my irritation with myself with me and try to ignore it)

Streets

Day 14: Shops in an alley, Nottingham – just no time for photography this week. Manic and more manic.

Hyacinth curls

Day 13: Hyacinth just coming into flower – am thinking Spring-shaped thoughts to hurry it all along!

Look…

Day 12: Challenged to take a self portrait… so… I did. I wish I could do better self portraits, but I can’t. It drives me a bit crackers!

Bilbie Walk

Day 11: Bilbie Walk, Nottingham. Also liked all the lines looking down this view – and with the closed gates, there are even more of them to look at!

Day 10: One of those ‘easy kits’ which a child should be able to do… *hollow laughter*

Day 8: Caught the sunlight on this light in our garden… just liked the effect!
